Support For Businesses During Brentwood High Street Road Closure

Open sign with text about Brentwood High Street and support for local businesses.

Brentwood Connected will be supporting businesses while Brentwood High Street is closed to traffic from Monday 15 September for six weeks. During this time Cadent, who look after the gas pipes in our area, will upgrade the old metal gas pipes. Essex Highways will also use this opportunity to resurface the road. A road closure and diversions will be in place for the duration of the works, and there will be Cadent operatives on site to facilitate business deliveries.

Brentwood Connected will continue to support businesses during this period, running an awareness campaign on social media, the digital advertising boards in the High Street, and increased signage and promotion in the area. We aim to remind residents and visitors that we're OPEN FOR BUSINESS, CLOSED FOR TRAFFIC, and to encourage them to eat, drink, shop and support local during this period.

We have created a series of images and videos businesses can use on social media. These are bespoke for each platform and purpose and can be downloaded below. Feel free to use these as often as you like to ensure your customers and followers know it's business as usual for you and your neighbours. We are also regularly posting on our Brentwood Connected profiles:

Any questions about the gas works should be directed to Cadent. You can contact their Customer Care team on 0800 085 4478 (between 8am - 8pm Monday to Friday) or by email on CustomerCareLondon@cadentgas.com.

Details about the Essex Highways resurfacing works, taking place at the same time, are available here.
