On Wednesday 17 September, Brentwood Connected businesses gathered for an annual members’ event at Figo in Brentwood to celebrate two years of the Business Improvement District (BID).
As a result of the YES vote in June 2023, the Brentwood Connected Business Improvement District (BID) came into effect on 1 October 2023 across Brentwood, Shenfield and Ingatestone with key themes of Improving Places, Promoting Places, Welcoming Places, and Connecting Places.
Members were invited to hear more about Brentwood Connected’s activities this year, plans for 2025/26, and to meet and network with other businesses. Attendees heard from Sarah Walmsley, Brentwood Connected’s BID Manager, and Kaye Thurgood, Chair of the Brentwood Business Partnership (BBP), the advisory board of the BID.
Throughout the evening the video above, featuring highlights from activities funded and delivered by Brentwood Connected in 2024/25, including Halloween, Christmas and Easter events, as well as the Brentwood Art Trail, school holiday activities, an update on the Brentwood Connected Town Rangers, along with the introduction of monthly newsletters, dog friendly stickers, 'Meet the BID Manager' sessions and free training platform SEEDL, was available to watch. There have been a number of key successes this year, as reported in the video presentation, including the value of goods recovered by the Brentwood Connected Town Rangers - an impressive £49,714 in the 12 months since 1 August 2024.
There was also a look ahead to the remainder of Brentwood Connected events this calendar year, including the below. Please save the dates:
