The last screening of the current season is “The Big Melt”, a film directed by Martin Wallace and Jarvis Cocker.
It is a feature length elegy to the men and women who toiled in Sheffield’s steelworks, and a hymn to Britain’s proud industrial past. Wallace weaves an exquisite tapestry of historic archival footage and local hero Cocker mixes in music in collaboration with a raft of Sheffield’s finest, including pop colleagues, string quartet, a brass band and a youth choir.
