Join us for a special Brentwood Art Trail portrait artist session with artists Lucia Hardy and Nancy Walker, where you can paint or draw our sitter, local author and podcaster Arden Jones, taking place at 7 Crown Street.

Arden is a neurodiverse, working-class mummy, carer and writer from Essex/East London. Her debut young-fiction series will be published next year. Arden lives in Brentwood and we're thrilled to have her as part of this year's Brentwood Art Trail.

We will provide tables and chairs for this session but you will need to bring all your own art materials, including an easel or small drawing board if required.

This session is suitable for experienced artists and beginners, anyone who wants to create with us whatever their level of expertise. Lucia and Nancy will be on hand with demonstrations and advice.

Lucia is an a dynamic, expressive artist from Harold Wood. In 2023, Lucia featured on Sky Arts’ Landscape Artist of the Year TV programme, where she was the Wildcard heat winner at Royal Ascot’s picnic area.

Nancy is an artist living in Rainham. She paints portraits, working exclusively with oil, and paints on canvas and wood panels. Nancy was recently commissioned to paint a series of movie-inspired portraits for the new Lumiere cinema in Romford.

There will be no food or drink available at this event but we will take regular breaks and we encourage attendees to support local while in Brentwood. You can find a list of all places to eat and drink in Brentwood here.
